Comparative Analysis of the Impact of Crude Oil and Kerosene on Soil Microbiota and the Bio-utilization Potentials of the Indigenous Microorganisms

This research is focused on evaluating the impact of crude oil and kerosene soil microbiota. The enumeration total heterotrophic bacterial count revealed that impacted with yielded low microbial counts ranged from 3.2 × 106 CFU/g, 105 to 2.6 103 CFU/g while coliform obtained samples ranges 105CFU/g 2.2 CFU/g. fungal 2.0 x 102 1.4 genera bacteria isolated soils belong genera: Pseudomonas spp., Bacillus Staphylococcus Streptococcus Escherichia coli, Micrococcus Klebsiella Corynebacterium Salmonella species Aspergillus Alternaria Candidia Fusarium Trichoderma Mucor Penicillium Cephalosporium Rhizopus spp. are fungi. percentage occurrence coli had highest prevalence 23.1%, followed by (7.7%), (7.7%) etc. While isolates following prevalence; (12.5%), Candida results indicates have a negative microbiota soil. combined effect compounds more harmful than their individual effects. result implies farmlands these products would not be suitable for agricultural purposes since nitrogen fixing other enriching microorganisms must been either killed or inactivated toxicity compounds.
